**Permanent, part-time (48 hours per fortnight) based in Hobart CBD**

Anglicare Tasmania is a non-profit organisation providing a wide range of community services to the people of Tasmania. We are part of the national Anglicare Australia network of organisations. Anglicare advocates for social justice and aids people in times of need. We provide programs relating to health, housing, families, drug and alcohol treatment and support and more.This position is required to undertake tenancy and maintenance functions at an Education First Youth Foyer.

The Facility Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of the site that include:

- Prepare leases, resolve tenancy issues, undertake unit inspections, maintain the grounds and garden, undertake minor maintenance, cleaning the communal areas, office spaces and vacated units.

The Facility Supervisor will also use coaching and Advantage Thinking to assist Students develop their living and housing skills. Provide Students information on rental properties assisting their transition from the Foyer into the community.

This is a “live in” position providing after hours support and assistance to young people residing at the site.

**The successful applicant will have**:

- An understanding of the Housing Connect system including young people’s pathways;
- Knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues relating to homelessness such as: poverty, unemployment, health, family violence, substance use and other social factors which impact on vulnerable or at risk people.
- Understanding of Tasmania’s current housing market and the difficulties facing low income people trying to secure housing;
- Demonstrated skills in assisting people who are experiencing disadvantage including reflective practice;
- High level interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively engage with young people and a range stakeholders including real estate agents;
- Comprehensive knowledge of the community services sector and resources available for young people;
- Facilitate mediation and conflict resolution processes;
- Well-developed writing skills including the ability to maintain accurate, professional case-notes, write reports, collect data, prepare correspondence and provide required information within program guidelines;
- Sound understanding of relevant legislation including the Residential Tenancy Act 1997 and occupational health and safety requirements or willingness to develop these through participation in training including a sound understanding of quality assurance measures and their role in improving services provided for Students.
- Ability to contribute to a professional team environment including team de-briefing, program planning activities and a variety of other team based consultative processes.
- Good time management skills with the ability to effectively set priorities and an ability to plan and implement general cleaning and maintenance duties for the site.

**The successful applicant will be required to**:

- have a schedule 1/unsupervised contact with children and vulnerable people category National Police Certificate (no older than 12 months and not an annulled record);
- provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
- undertake a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical;
- provide evidence of a booking for a COVID-19 vaccine, a copy of your COVID-19 Digital Certificate or a vaccination exemption;
- hold a Provisional or Full Australian Driver Licence
