**About the role**

Reporting to the Technical Manager, your role as a Technical Assistant is to support the technical operations of the Victoria workshop. To maintain the workshop daily functions and support the field service and projects teams by preparing machinery for delivery. To assist with inventory control functions of the workshop and store operations.

**Duties**
- Ensure all parts are prepared to machine specification prior to collection or delivery.
- To complete inspection maintenance check sheet to provide a visual aid fault finding/checking list to machine repair/audits/inspections.
- Verify all customer copies of documentation are complete, accurate and are supplied lists.
- Documenting issues, resolutions, and processes is vital. This not only helps in creating a knowledge base but also in legal compliance and maintaining service records.
- Liaise with Field Service team to minimise service delays and ensure prompt and professional service breakdown support is provided.
- To provide and carry out preparations, service and repair work on equipment supplied by Visy Technology Systems.
- To provide detailed and itemised reports of all service, repairs, and machine preparations.
- Upon completion of every service, ensure reports are updated with Administration for invoicing. Reports to include all part numbers of parts supplied on the job.
- Housekeeping - well maintained and clean well organised workshop
- Organised and prepared machines ready for delivery
- Always ensure compliance to onsite OH&S rules and legislation

**What you will bring to the team**
- Electrical/ Electronic Trades Certificate
- Engineering Qualifications - desirable
- Service experience is desirable.
- Industrial / automation background - packaging experience well regarded.
- Forklift lift license is desirable.
- Approach problems systematically to diagnose issues and devise effective solutions.
- Understand and adhere to industry safety standards. Ensure that technicians are aware of and follow safety protocols.
- Know the tools of the trade, from basic hand tools to advanced diagnostic software.
- To be results and outcome focused, maintaining a high level of single instance resolution.
- Have a deep understanding of how the machinery operates, common points of failure, and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently.
- Can-do attitude
- Collaborative approach
