Elwood Bathers is a restaurant, bar and events venue with flawless views across Port Philip Bay. We pride ourselves on our menu which includes locally sourced, classic bistro cuisine and a wine list which features some of Victoria's finest producers.

We are seeking an Events Manager who is confident, fun and engaging to help create a unique customer experience. Your role will be to plan all in-house events and ensure that customer needs are catered for throughout.

**Responsibilities**:

- Liaise with clients to find out their exact event requirements
- Primary point of contact for clients throughout event process, from site inspections to event day
- Pitch the space to potential clients at site inspections
- Manage and coordinate suppliers and event logistics
- Produce detailed events proposals (timelines, suppliers, budgets, legal obligations, staffing etc.)
- Ensure seamless execution of events
- Be present at the start of events (evenings and weekends) to check in with the client and ensure a smooth handover to the Manager/Supervisor who is running the event
- Coach, motivate and inspire your team
- Work with the Head Chef to develop food and beverage packages
- Ensure that insurance, legal and OH&S obligations are followed
- Administrative responsibilities
- Work with the GM to create innovative ideas on how to market and promote the venue, improve profitability and increase revenue
- Maintain systems and operations to ensure smooth running in your absence

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in senior role within Events/Weddings/Conferencing Industry
- Experience in the hospitality industry desirable
- Strong communications and selling skills
- Outgoing, personable and team orientated
- Energetic, vibrant and professional working style
- Excellent attitude and willing to go out of the way to accommodate guests and exceed expectations
- Strong people management and coaching skills
- Great time management and ability to prioritise workload
- Strong initiative
- The confidence and adaptability to deal with all variety of people and personalities and command a room
- Administrative and IT skills
- Immaculate presentation
- Good knowledge of wine, beer, spirits and cocktails
- Must have full working rights in Australia
