**The Role**
The Australian Signals Directorate is seeking multiple Desktop Technicians with strong integrity and the ability to utilise their skills and experience, in the Technology Services Branch to support ASD’s infrastructure and enable successful outcomes.

**ASD 4 Desktop Technician**:

- Accountable for organising their workflow, making decisions within their defined parameters relating to area of responsibility and will seek guidance when required.
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting of desktop and associated components using supplied instructions and tools.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge from relevant vendors utilising support products and processes to meet outcomes.
- Interpret and comply with business processes and legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.

**ASD 5 Desktop Technician**:

- Accountable under routine direction to perform and achieve moderately complex Desktop support work within an integrated workforce.
- Making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility.
- Identify and contribute to business process improvement activities.
- Resolve incidents and problems using expertise in Desktop Support, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.

**ASD 6 Desktop Technician**:

- Accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex ICT support engineering work.
- Work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work.
- May be a team coach or lead a team and be accountable to set work priorities and manage workflows.
- Responsible to maintain details of desktop configuration and maintenance activities to ensure records are kept up to date.
- Accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes, share own expertise with others and guide and mentor less experienced employees.

Enterprise Technology Division within the ASD, is seeking multiple Desktop Technicians with strong integrity and the ability to utilise their skills and experience, in the Technology Services Branch to support ASD’s infrastructure and enable successful outcomes.

You will be joining a high performing team of friendly, professional and supportive technical specialists of diverse experience, backgrounds and cultures, with guidance from technical leaders and managers, all working together as one in delivering critical capabilities for ASD and other intelligence agencies as well as the ADF.

There are exciting opportunities to travel within Australia and overseas, collaborate with myriad of teams within ASD, and AIC on short term deployments maintaining the capabilities that we provide. There are also opportunities to be posted to other states within Australia on term-transfer or permanent basis.
