National Head of Agri and Regional Business

**About the Role**
The purpose of this position is to develop and execute on the BOQ Agribusiness & BOQ Business Regional strategy to retain and grow the customer portfolio through profitable customer relationships in the Agribusiness, Diversified, Industry and Property sectors.
The distribution strategy will be focused on direct and other channels (3rd party and the Owner Manager network) in both core geographies and regional areas, and in all instances differentiating through relationship, expertise and the delivery of outstanding customer service.
This role will be measured against all agreed objectives (including compliance with key risk requirements) including, but not limited to:
- Execute on the Agribusiness & Regional business strategies to grow the business by geography, sector, brand, balance sheet and people.
- Lead a team of Bankers to deliver profitable growth across all locations and chosen sectors.
- Lead, coach, and mentor Bankers to develop and excel in their roles.
- Increase financial returns and profitable growth across the sectors.
- Increase awareness of the BOQ brand in the Agribusiness & Regional space, particularly those regions outside of Queensland.
Customer Service and Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers through the delivery of excellent service.
- Ability to understand a diverse range of industries.
- Own the overall responsibility for client relationships.
- Lead the team in client relationship management by role modelling expected behaviours.
Staff Development
- Ensure all identified mandatory training is completed and assessments are successfully undertaken.
- Provide direction, support, coaching and ongoing training all team members to develop business finance and credit analysis skills.
Risk Management
- Facilitate and manage the flow of credit submissions through the internal assessment process.
- Manage and maintain all aspects of compliance and tracking requirements.
- Ensure staff is fully trained in Policy & Procedural requirements and complete their compliance training in a timely manner
**About you**
Our successful applicant will have:
- A degree qualification in a business related or Agribusiness related discipline is desirable.
- Substantial knowledge of general banking operations and lending.
- Sound knowledge of the commercial market and competitor products.
- Sound knowledge of industry changes.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to identify an acceptable level of lending risk to BOQ Group.
- Proven ability to build strong referral networks.
- Ability to analyse complex financial statements and assist with preparation and the sponsorship of detailed credit submissions
