Reporting to the Director, Independent Reviews and Special Projects, these roles will be part of a small and dynamic team leading two landmark projects for the Commission: - an independent review into diversity and inclusion in the Queensland Police Service, which is preparing to commence its initial phase
- work to prepare the Commission for an expanded role following the Queensland Government's commitment to introduce new and strengthened anti-discrimination legislation.
This project-based team works closely with the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, and sits alongside the Legal, Research and Policy team within the Commission.
- demonstrated experience in supporting teams to achieve project outcomes through the provision of administrative and operational support
- knowledge of the strategic purposes of the Queensland Human Rights Commission and related legal and policy contexts, or the capacity to quickly acquire this
- well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- exceptional organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
This role will have responsibility for supporting the Independent Reviews and Special Projects team by developing some technical knowledge and skills, as well as undertaking coordination and administrative activities.

**You will be accountable for**: - Providing administrative and operational support to the team to guarantee effective project coordination. Tasks may include scheduling and planning meetings and engagement activities, maintaining databases and spreadsheets, managing team in-boxes and promptly responding to enquiries, and taking detailed and accurate file notes during critical meetings and engagement activities. Undertaking research, policy analysis, and drafting tasks with the guidance of a senior team member. Creating and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including as the initial point of contact between our team and other areas of the Commission, and with external stakeholders. managing with attention to detail all information management processes utilised by our team with proficiency working within Microsoft SharePoint and Office software.
This role would be suited to a motivated early career professional looking to develop policy skills within a legal context, or a confident project officer with experience coordinating complex projects.
You will contribute your superb organisational and teamwork skills to ensure our major projects operate seamlessly.
