**About Mt Arthur Coal**

BHP’s Mt Arthur Coal is the largest individual coal production site in the region.

Located less than 5 kilometres from Muswellbrook, NSW we produce high quality, clean energy coal for international and domestic customers. Mt Arthur Coal can offer experience and great career development opportunities.

**About this Role**

The Specialist ISL works alongside Leaders to improve the experience of Indigenous-identified employees in Mt Arthur Coal, while also contributing to enhanced cultural safety and wellbeing across the workplace.

In this role, you will:

- Serve as a key point of contact for Indigenous employees, through the provision of personalised support and advice to improve employee experience.
- Advocate for Indigenous perspectives and cultural capability.
- Work alongside leaders and employees on Indigenous social, cultural and recognition matters for site level activities.
- Where Indigenous employee and/or site needs intersect with local communities, partner with Indigenous Engagement to facilitate any necessary engagement with Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs), Traditional Owner corporations and local communities.

**Qualifications & Skills to be successful in this role**
- Experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders including diverse cultures and/or Indigenous peoples.
- An understanding of and experience in the mining sector and BHP’s operating environment is recommended but not mandatory.
- Relevant vocational, TAFE or University qualifications (e.g. HR/ER, healthcare, community development) are recommended but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in a similar role in case management, advocacy, community development or human services is recommended but not mandatory.

**Location**

This opportunity is being offered on a residential basis in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of NSW. Part-time or full-time options can be considered.
