Your new role

GM Consumer Strategy & Portfolio Management is a key senior role in QBE’s -consumer insurance business, providing leadership and driving growth by developing and implementing strategies and plans to maximise profitability and drive sustainable growth.

Reporting to the Managing Director for Consumer, in this leadership role you will help develop the strategic narrative for the Consumer business, leveraging your understanding of the competitor landscape in personal insurance to ensure QBE is well positioned to serve our customers and respond to emerging market challenges.

Key accountabilities include:

- P&L ownership for Consumer products (ex CTP and LMI) including product strategy and day-to-day portfolio management
- Play the lead role in driving strategy and planning activities for Consumer
- Drive the development and embedment of customer strategy across all parts of value chain to bring to life the desired end-to-end customer experience
- Set revenue and profitability targets during Budgets and Forecasts for accountable products
- Lead the business planning process and portfolio management governance for Consumer
- Manage end-to-end proposition design
- Contribute and influence the design of underwriting rules and questions to ensure alignment to CVP and product strategy
- Develop go-to-market price strategy, balancing commercial objectives, customer and partner considerations
- Lead, coach and further develop a high performing team

About you

This is an opportunity for an experienced insurance industry professional to leverage your knowledge of personal lines insurance within a major industry participant. You will enjoy creating innovative market strategies and working with high performing internal teams to create compelling commercial propositions for our partners and customers.

You will be a critical thinker, able to deep dive into consumer insurance segments and draw meaningful insights, collaborating within a high performing leadership team to steer the direction of QBE’s Australian Consumer business.
