Within NSW DPI, Agriculture (nsw.gov.au) leads agricultural industry development through extension, science and research, industry policy and regulatory compliance functions to foster sustainable and economic agricultural industries.

**About the role**

The Youth Education Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and delivery of quality vocational training in agriculture. The role also manages individual programs within its suite of Fulltime and Traineeship courses in order to build capacity in agriculture, supporting a profitable and sustainable agricultural industry and the achievement of corporate objectives of NSW DPI, Agriculture (DPI Ag).

Key accountabilities include:

- Contribute to the development and delivery of quality and compliant training related to sustainable agriculture as part of Tocal College’s Vocational Education and Training Program.
- Monitor, analyse and adequately consider the latest developments and issues in farm management and sustainable agricultural production when reviewing relevant Fulltime and Traineeship courses.
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement of training activities, consistent with the VQF (Vocational Quality Framework) and other relevant legislation.
- Liaise with employers and other industry personnel to ensure courses remain relevant to industry needs.
- Coordinate students, staff and resources so that specific training programs operate safely and in keeping with legislative and business requirements.
- Coordinate, monitor and evaluate the implementation of specific Youth Education programs within targeted timeframes and budgets.
- Contribute to the responsibilities associated with management of a residential college campus.

**To be successful in the role**:
You must have a passion for developing and mentoring young people and helping them achieve their vocational and personal goals. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a rapport with young people and be a potential role model.

You will combine your high level of organisational skills with your technical ability and experience to coordinate the delivery of specific competencies, soft skills and personal development activities within Tocal’s Residential and Traineeship Programs.

You will be able to identify the wellbeing and welfare needs of residential students and respond with appropriate support or referral to others.

Your familiarity with online learner management systems will allow you to use the College’s own system to collect, analyse and report student assessments at an individual or group level.

**Essential Requirements**
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or the ability to attain within 3 month of appointment
- Certificate III in Agriculture or demonstrated equivalency in a range of skills at that level
- Current Drivers’ License and the ability and willingness to travel
- A Working with Children Check is an essential requirement for this role. The role has been identified as requiring a check in keeping with the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012**.**
