What You'll Do
The Aboriginal Heritage Guide is responsible for conducting effective, vibrant, well-informed site tours for visitors to RBGV. The role will contribute to the design and delivery of engaging and culturally sensitive programs with specific reference to Aboriginal culture, plant uses and land. The tours are aimed to extend learning and engagement with Aboriginal experiences, plant uses, sites and history, particularly for the tourism and education sector.
What You'll Bring
You will bring your knowledge of local and nationwide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and ability to deliver high-quality programs to a diverse audience. Ideally you will have a qualification or equivalent experience in delivering tours or interpretation programs to diverse audiences, or be willing to learn. You will bring your understanding of local and national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. You will be knowledgeable, or willing to learn about plants from a First Peoples and Western knowledge system as well as other related fields such as environmental science, horticulture and heritage. In addition to your communication and presentation skills you will work well within a team, have good time management and organisation. This role has been designated only for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
