**Role Purpose**

Aesop are seeking an experienced and passionate **Supply Chain **Sustainability Manager **to join our Supply Chain team in a **full-time position **operating with a hybrid working pattern, based at our global head office in Collingwood.

As part of the Supply Chain Projects and Strategy team, this role will lead the roll out of sustainability improvement activities amongst the broader supply chain.

The Supply Chain Sustainability Manager will review all aspects of the supply chain from material and component sourcing, manufacturing and end to end logistics, in order to track the business’s impact across carbon, land, waste, water, biodiversity and other indicators. and implement programs to reduce that impact. This role will also be expected to lead the supply chain’s assessment of climate risk and deforestation.

As part of the group’s commitment to life goals which include reaching net zero by 2030 and full traceability and/or certification for critical supply chains by 2025, this role will work closely with the Head of Procurement, Head of Sustainability and collaborate cross functionally with R&D, packaging, contract manufacturing, and logistics teams as well as across the broader group to coordinate sustainability led initiatives.

This role will have one direct report focusing on ethical and sustainable sourcing compliance.

**Key responsibilities (but not limited to)**
- Define and monitor the overarching Commitment to Life supply chain roadmap, in consultation with Aesop Sustainability and Natura & Co
- Partner with third party manufacturers and suppliers to encourage sustainable and regenerative production practices
- Measure and report business impact across sustainability focus areas (GHG emissions, land, waste, water use, biodiversity, traceability, ethical supply chain, circularity and more) as part of internal scorecards and external reporting including B Corp, TCFD, TCND, Modern Slavery, and others.
- Support supply chain’s Life Cycle Assessment programme for product formulations and packaging
- Work with suppliers to collect data and assess ingredient and other material supply chains against sustainability policies and standards
- Proactively identify and prioritise projects that will deliver the Commitment to Life and Aesop internal sustainability goals
- Execute and deliver sustainability lead projects
- Champion the Commitment to Life and sustainability goals within the Supply Chain team, leading other teams to change and improvement
- Collaborate with group stakeholders to share projects and learnings

**What we are looking for**
- Considerable experience in sustainability preferably in the cosmetics/food/FMCG industry, ideally coupled with experience in either R&D, Packaging, Manufacturing or Logistics
- Proven track record of measured sustainability improvements
- Proven experience managing multiple projects with strict time-dependent deliverables
- Experience in managing projects involving international implementation (ideally/preferably within a large/global organisation)
- An understanding of ISO14001
- A strong passion and understanding of the environment, including climate change, GHG, carbon, land, water, waste, biodiversity, and other indicators.
- Understanding of Life Cycle Assessment methodologies and experience with LCA software is highly desirable
- Experience in assessing modern slavery risk and developing MS statements is highly desirable
- Natural, clear communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
- Detail oriented, with excellent follow through skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
