**About this position**

The City is seeking an experienced communications professional with strengths in media and corporate communications to join our small team, in a job share capacity. Our Communications and Marketing team is fast-paced, energetic and delivers proactive communication strategies, enhancing the City's reputation for doing great things.

In this role you will leverage your expertise in media and public relations to write and distribute media releases highlighting City activities while also managing responses to media inquiries, writing speech and interview notes, organising photo opportunities, and undertaking other key responsibilities.

This is a permanent part time position, requiring 30 hours per fortnight. Additionally, a maximum term commitment for an extra 15 hours per fortnight until 30 June 2025 is expected.

**What we are looking for**

To be successful you must be able to demonstrate:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Strong copywriting and editing skills
- Sound knowledge on media and public relations
- Ability to problem-solve and prioritise to work effectively to competing deadlines
- Competency using a range of computer software, including Adobe InDesign

**Essential requirements**
- Current driver's licence.
- Qualification in communications, marketing or public relations, or equivalent experience in a similar role
