About this position
An opportunity has become available within Library Services to cover for a period of leave as Library Officer.

The primary duties of this position at present includes covering desk shifts at the City's four library branches and other library-based duties as directed by Coordinators and relevant to the position description.


Applicants will be able to demonstrate previous library experience, good customer service skills and the ability to undertake multifaceted tasks in an accurate and timely manner.

Applicants must be available to work weekend and evening shifts as required.

What we are looking for

To be successful, you must have:

  • Previous experience in a library or similar customer-facing environment.
  • The ability and confidence to deliver library programs.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills working with teams, individuals and the community.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • The ability to undertake multifaceted tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
  • The ability to work additional hours will be highly regarded as there are likely to be additional hours available.

Essential requirements

  • Current National Police Clearance (less than three months old)
  • Current "C-Class" driver's licence
  • Working with children's check card
