The Opportunity

As the Contracts Advisor, you will draft, prepare and issue tender work packages to obtain competitive pricing from reliable sources. This role supports the Procurement Manager at Thiess’ supporting national contracts and will play an integral role in deploying sophisticated contract management strategies.

About The Role

We seek an individual with demonstrated experience in Procurement and Contract Administration in Mining and strategic disciplines necessary to achieve the confidence and rapport in dealing with internal stakeholders.

As Contracts Advisor, you will be a dependable point of inquiry and trusted advisor to engage stakeholders and influence them to complete tasks on time in a WFH capacity.

**Additionally, the role will**:
Support internal stakeholders with contract procedures and general administration of contracts to maintain a professional standard of work

Assist in resolving any contract disputes between the suppliers and project work

Updating insurance certificates to ensure our suppliers/subcontractors are working with insurance protection

Escalate with accounts payable on supplier payment issues to ensure these are resolved

Prepare detailed handover packs for projects to include a rights and obligations summary and KPI information, a summary of the scope of works, the program, identify those responsible for managing the contract, payment terms, procedure of variations, dispute escalation processes, payment schedules and claims procedures

Prepare handover meetings (Projects), kick-off meetings (subcontractors), and record and maintain contract registers to control contract numerical systems

Observe our Commercial and Legal requirements to maintain company policies

Indigenous engagement facilitation and assistance to the Australian contracts team

Support the function in developing a business case, recommendations and justification to obtain approval to proceed with the works

Compare and reconcile tender submissions to enable Senior Management to understand costs and/or risks with the works. Review completeness, conformity, price variance, commercial departures, technical departures, H&S management, environment management, quality management, HR and IR management, local content, diversity and innovative ideas.

About You

The primary purpose is to provide advisor support and knowledge to the Australian procurement contracts function.

You will have demonstrated experience and industry procurement and contract administration in mining and strategic disciplines necessary to achieve confidence and rapport in dealing with internal stakeholders.
