Dietitian

Grade 2 Dietitian, full time, fixed term

- Primary Location: Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre, Kew
- Pay range Grade 2 (AJ1 to AJ4) $46.88 to $53.04 per hour + salary packaging + super + higher qualification allowance if applicable.

**About the Nutrition & Dietetics Department**

Our department has around 40 staff members across three sites - Austin (acute care), Repat (sub-acute care) and Talbot (rehabilitation), providing services to inpatients, outpatients and home & community programs. We operate as one department and come together for staff meetings and continuing education. The work environment is vibrant and fast-paced, friendly and supportive, and filled with lots of highly skilled and experienced dietitians. We are organised into seven clinical streams: specialist medicine, ICU/surgical/gastro, oncology, paediatrics & mental health, sub-acute and ambulatory care, each led by a senior. We also have portfolios for staff education, student training, quality and safety, research, nutrition support, food service and outpatient services.

**About the role**

You will be based primarily at Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre in Kew, working with one to two other dietitians providing services in neurology, amputee, orthopaedics, spinal, acquired brain injury, brain disorders unit and home-based programs. Your workload allocation may vary according to operational needs across the stream and the department, and may include regular work at the other campuses. You will be part of clinical stream/s across the other sites, with designated stream leader/s. **About you**

To be successful in this role you will bring:

- Qualification to practice as a dietitian in Australia as recognised by Dietitians?Australia (DA) and eligibility for membership of DA and the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) program.??
- Sound clinical nutrition knowledge in a variety of areas with demonstrated depth of knowledge in rehabilitation.
- Experience working with NDIS is desirable but not required.
- Evidence of involvement in quality improvement related to dietetic care.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Some experience in student training and professional supervision.
- Demonstrated high-level communication skills.
- Demonstrated effective counselling skills and commitment to patient-centered care.
- Demonstrated organisational skills, efficient workload management and ability to prioritise.
- A sound understanding of information technology including clinical systems.
- Current driver's license.
