**About the Nutrition and Dietetics Department**

Our department is a vibrant and fast-paced environment with a team of 42 staff (34 EFT) across three sites. We function as one team and provide a fun, friendly and supportive work environment. Our Dietitians are experts in medical nutrition therapy and are organised into clinical streams, each with a senior leader: specialist medicine, ICU/surgical/gastro, oncology, paediatrics & mental health, sub-acute & rehab. We service inpatients, outpatients and home/community programs working across acute care, sub-acute care and rehabilitation. Other key activities across our department include staff education and development, student training, quality improvement, research and food service.

**About the position**

This position is based primarily on the Austin site and will work as part of our Paediatrics and Mental Health stream. The workload will include child & adolescent eating disorders and adult general mental health. Workload allocation will be across both inpatient and ambulatory settings and may vary according to operational needs across the stream and the department. The ideal roster for this position is Thursdays and Fridays (8 hrs/day), but could be somewhat flexible and we are keen to hear from people who have relevant experience and skills. There will also be opportunity to work additional hours when we need leave cover if this is of interest to you, and there may be opportunity for longer term work. **About you**:
Ideally, you’ll have:

- Sound clinical nutrition knowledge in a variety of areas with demonstrated depth of knowledge in managing patients with eating disorders and general mental health conditions.
- Demonstrated understanding of hospital food service systems and how to work effectively with food service staff.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated high-level communication skills.
- Effective counselling skills and commitment to patient-centred care.??
- Demonstrated organisational skills, efficient workload management and ability to prioritise.
