**Role Purpose**:
To manage and lead the grid connection aspects of Australian utility-scale solar projects.

**Accountabilities**:

- Liaise with and manage inverter manufacturers and other related OEM and software providers.
- Engage, manage and review the work of consultants working on Generator Performance Standards.
- Manage the utilities and AEMO.
- Manage software modelling issues and all parties involved for the modelling and approval of generator performance standards and related documentation during all project phases - including GPS approvals during development, R1 data validation and hold point and R2 testing during commissioning.
- Manage the enquiry and connection processes with Network service providers.
- Assist with general engineering work, including; Carry out PVsyst simulations to look at different configurations and equipment options for new and existing projects; prepare preliminary electrical drawings including SLDs, review tenderer and contractor electrical drawings and designs.
- Develop, review and provide inputs to tender and contract technical specifications to ensure that grid connection and electrical items are covered and that there are no gaps.
- Review grid connection and electrical items for project acquisitions and provide inputs to the review and tendering process.
- Updated about National Electricity Rules requirements and changes, as well as any state-based or local grid connection requirements.
- Develop a network of contacts and information sources to ensure timely access to information on grid connection developments, market activities and potential business development opportunities.
- Assist with general technical and engineering work, including regulatory, planning, grid connection, technical design, tender specifications and review, design reviews and other aspect of renewable energy project developments.
- Supervise and manage consultants and contractors as required.
- Participate in the identification and development of new renewable energy sites.
- Provide technical input to reports, PPAs, contracts and other documentation as required.
- Assist with assessment of development assets in targeted market areas.
- Interface with and work with internal team and respond to queries and ad-hoc requests on technical aspects of project developments and acquisitions.
- Communicate with and prepare reports for company management as required.

**About you (skills and experience)**:

- Degree / Post Graduate in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years out of which 4+ years experience should be in a Consulting engineering organisation or Construction company.
- Knowledge and experience of power systems, power system studies and grid connection of utility-scale renewable energy projects in Australia or overseas.
- Basic knowledge of PSSE, PSCAD and Power Factory simulation software.
- Experience dealing with power systems consultants, utilities and AEMO.
- Experience in the design and development of renewable energy or battery projects in Australia or overseas.
- Experience with GPS negotiations, R1 process and registration, commissioning, testing and R2 process desirable but not essential.
- Independent and critical thinker with strong analytical ability.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently interact with peers, external parties and management.
- Ability to work independently to achieve optimal results.
- Ability and desire to work in a dynamic, fast growing company environment.
