As the Connectivity Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role within Connectivity Services, a critical department providing operational support, project delivery, design, and consultancy services for CITEC and its clientele. Our mandate encompasses the management of communication networks and associated services, including service design and management for whole-of-government services. Operating on a 24/7 basis across various client sites, we leverage automated tools and rostered staff for on-call support to fulfill our after-hours commitments.Within the Network Applications Team, your responsibilities will span two key technology domains: Application Delivery, focusing on platforms such as F5 (LTM, GTM, APM, and WAF), and Network Management and Automation. Your role will be multifaceted, demanding a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and stakeholder engagement skills.As the Connectivity Technical Manager, you will assume full responsibility and accountability for network design across service provider, internal, and external client contexts. From conception to implementation, operation, and maintenance, you will guide the entire lifecycle of network services, ensuring their effective and efficient delivery while maintaining the utmost security standards.In addition to your technical duties, you will serve as a leader and mentor to network specialists within the broader Connectivity Services team. Your guidance will be instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development, empowering team members to excel in their roles and contribute meaningfully to our collective objectives.
Your remit will extend beyond internal team dynamics to encompass stakeholder management and relationship-building. Building collaborative relationships with all stakeholders associated with the services managed by your team will be paramount. By striving for mutually beneficial outcomes and maintaining open lines of communication, you will ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.In the realm of project management, you will review opportunities and supervise technical initiatives undertaken by your team. This will include participating in or leading the development or response to request for quote (RFQ) specifications, identifying opportunities for innovation and value creation, and actively promoting a culture of efficiency and effectiveness.
Reporting directly to the Director of Connectivity Operations, you will be entrusted with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility. Your role will be instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of our network services, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate a comprehensive skill set encompassing technical expertise, leadership proficiency, and stakeholder management prowess. Your experience as a Connectivity Technical Manager in a service provider environment will be invaluable, as will your proven track record in leading technical teams and driving transformative change. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, will be essential for success.
