**The Company**:
A great powerhouse publishing business based in Sydney that strives to strengthen business communities and has multiple streams within the business model. They have a great internal team and an open culture and passion for training their staff this is a brilliant team environment. They are looking for a new Head of Events to come on board to cover maternity leave for the current Head of Events.
**The Role**:
Key Responsibilities include;
- Working with the Commercial Director to develop accurate and realistic forecasting for all scheduled events
- To oversee and lead the delivery of the organisations comprehensive annual events program, ensuring all scheduled events are run with sufficient lead time to allow for maximum sponsorship and delegate
sales and delivered on budget and to the highest quality and support team members when needed
- Overseeing the allocation of events to individuals within the team
- End to end project management of all annual events
- Working with the Commercial Director and external suppliers to ensure event booking systems are friendly and that financial reporting meets our requirements
- Managing venue liaison and all event venue contracts and negotiations ensuring maximum cost savings
- Assist the sales team with the preparation of proposals to ensure they are in line with client briefs for bespoke events and meet the company's requirements from a budgetary and logístical perspective
- Building strong supplier, stakeholder and client relationships
- Developing and monitoring event budgets to ensure department spending is kept within established boundaries
- Ensure all events are run to the same standard and formula
- Accountable for the events team complying with all internal processes to ensure best practice and quality standards are being met in all event delivery
- Show a driven, hands on management style that guides event best practice and raises team performance
- Develop and manage a high performing team of event organisers
- Coach, mentor and lead the events team
- Work with the Marketing Manager to ensure the marketing plan for each event is implemented and flag the need for increased activity if sales are under budget
- Time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Team management and senior leadership experience
- Displays high level judgement and decision making ability
- A pragmatic hands on approach with the ability to work collaboratively
- Highly adaptable
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Flexible and adaptable to working outside of core hours
- Sound negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to thrive under pressure and demonstrate flexibility to meet tight deadlines
