About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Community Engagement Team Leader You will provide a range of Community Engagement Programs aimed at supporting people experiencing homelessness reach their full potential. Additionally, you will work across Flagstaff and The Open Door residential services to provide short-term accommodation and support for single men aged over 18 years experiencing homelessness.

Responsibilities include
- Promote workplace culture of co-operation and accountability
- Risk management strategies are implemented, risks monitored, and any incidents are acted on promptly
- Current trends in Community Engagement & homelessness contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery
- Capability development plans implemented for team to improve service delivery
- Focus team to maintain high level of awareness of sector issues
- Fosters a culture of a Rights Based Approach for client dignity and excellence in service delivery

This is a permanent full-time position, based in Flagstaff and North Melbourne, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 6 Award.

You will have
- Degree Qualification in Community Development, Social Work or related
- Relevant experience in the Social Service sector
- Relevant experience in the supervision of staff
- Advanced Written and Oral Communication Skills
- Ability to think strategically
- Use of crisis communication skills to reduce high conflict situations
- Advanced organisational and administrative skills
- The ability to support staff exposed to traumatic situations
- An Employee Working with Children’s Check
- Participation in On Call Roster
- A Valid Driver's Licence
- A full Covid Vaccination
