**Overview**
The STS Taskforce is working with business and across all levels of government to deliver the most significant whole-of-government cross-border trade reforms in more than a decade. This includes working to make trade rules simpler and easier for businesses to comply with, digitising cross-border trade processes to be more efficient, enabled by modern ICT systems with improved data sharing, while strengthening border and biosecurity controls. The STS Taskforce is entering an exciting phase as it transitions from discovery and planning to reform delivery.
The work of the STS Taskforce supports the Government’s broader trade and digital agendas, including Trade2040. Our work will deliver regulatory, process and ICT systems reforms which will deliver value to both business and Government over the short, medium, and longer terms.

**Deliverables**

The APS6 Procurement officer will:
- Develop and negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet the requirements of the STS Taskforce Develop and contribute to executive reporting briefs with analytical and problem solving skills to achieve outcomes
- Lead the compliance and auditing of procurement and financial practices within the STS Taskforce, with sensitivity under limited guidance
- Actively participate in stakeholder meetings and planning activities to achieve continuous improvement in business practices.
**Requirements (Statement of work)**
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong digital literacy awareness and confidence in the use of digital tools to solve problems, be productive, and collaborate with others in a digital environment.
- The ability to perform, adjust and excel in a high-performing team and fast-paced and high-profile environment.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills, and an ability to communicate complex and technical concepts succinctly.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative with resilience, and ability to manage competing and changing priorities while contributing to a positive work environment.
- Demonstrated ability undertake work with a moderate level of complexity and sensitivity under limited guidance.
- Formal qualifications and/or experience with legislative and governance frameworks and best practice with regards to the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
The successful incumbent will be required to provide financial and procurement support and expertise to the Simplified Trade System Taskforce for the provision of services during the contracted period. As part of a team, the Service Provider shall:
- Lead and assist in the delivery of services in a timely, accurate and cost-effective manner.
- Actively contribute to the review and analysis of financial and procurement activities, business processes and reporting
- Develop, coordinate and contribute to relevant briefing and reporting products and any other related materials as requested
- Monitor government policy and strategic developments, as it relates to the roles and responsibilities to maintain currency of knowledge and experience.
- Support and develop productive relationships with Government agencies, industry organisations and businesses.
- Take responsibility for the achievements of own outcomes, monitor progress and follow through to deliver quality outcomes
The successful incumbent must attend meetings, as required by the Entity (Austrade) in delivering the Services. The Entity (Austrade) reserves the right to change any in-person meetings/bookings to telephone or video conferences as necessary.
The successful incumbent must have the ability to manage a high workload with limited supervision and work remotely when required.
