**APS6 - Program Manager, Technical Acquisitions - Oral History and Sound / AV**:

The National Library of Australia is seeking to fill the integral role of **Program Manager, Technical Acquisitions - Oral History and Sound / AV (APS6)** in the Collect and Acquire Section in Collection Branch.

This role is critical to the function of the Technical Acquisitions team. It is responsible for developing and implementing policies, techniques and procedures relating to technical production and preservation of the Library’s audio-visual, oral history and sound recording collections.

You will lead and coach staff using digital audio workstations and processing systems.

You will play an essential role in providing expertise and technical knowledge. You will liaise with digital preservation contractors and oral history interviewers and be responsible for contract management, specialist technical equipment procurement and statistical and administrative reporting.

You will provide advice and guidance regarding technical production and preservation of Library archival audio visual, oral history and other sound recording collections.

To be successful in this vacant position, you must have experience of digital collection management particularly digital acquisition, creation, and preservation of digital collection assets, including the technologies required for this work.

Knowledge and experience in sound recording technology and logistics is highly desirable.

Experience in contract management and procurement would be an advantage.

It is desirable that you hold qualifications or equivalent experience in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences or related fields.
