**About the role**
- St Thomas’ Catholic Primary School is seeking a welcoming, professional and collaborative School Secretary/Administration Officer to undertake a variety of administration tasks in our busy school office, serving the needs of our wonderful school community.
- Typical duties of the position include but are not limited to:
**Reception Duties**
- Greet visitors, students, parents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Answer phone calls, route them to the appropriate personnel, or take messages accurately.
- Handle enquiries and provide information about the school.

**Administrative Support**
- Manage and maintain student records, attendance, and enrolment data.
- Prepare and distribute school-related materials, forms, and notices as needed.<
- Update and maintain the schools electronic and physical filing systems.
- Update compliance documents as required
- Provide a wide range of efficient, organised and advanced technical and administrative services to the Principal. Schedule meetings and appointments accordingly, ensuring that there are no conflicts or overlaps.

**Communication**
- Relay important announcements and messages to relevant parties through a variety of platforms<
- Communicate school policies and procedures to parents and visitors.
- Manage the school Facebook page

**Safety and Security**
- Provide basic first aid for students following BCE protocols
- Monitor visitor access and sign-in procedure.<
- Follow security procedures to safeguard the school community.
- Respond to emergencies or safety concerns following established protocols.

**Technology**
- Proficiently use office software and databases to manage records and information.
- Assist with troubleshooting basic technical issues related to office equipment.
- Update, maintain and manage documents using the school portal<

**Collaboration**
- Collaborate with other administrative staff to support school-wide initiatives.
- Work closely with the school principal, teachers, and support staff as needed.
- Work in collaboration with a variety of different stakeholders to solve problems calmly.

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Previous experience in a reception or administrative role is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- A high level of communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Hold or be prepared to obtain a First Aid Certificate.

To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:

- hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
- be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
- have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
