**About Strategy and Culture, University Museums and Collections**
The Museums and Collection Department aims to build a collaborative and flexible network around the University’s cultural assets to enable students, staff members local and global communities to gain knowledge and understanding of contemporary and traditional cultures, scientific discovery and creative practice.

**About the Role**
As the Collections Coordinator, Storage and Logistics, you will work within Strategic Collections providing collection management and logistics services to support the delivery of Cultural Commons strategic objectives. You will support access to the cultural collections across multiple venues and work alongside colleagues to ensure an inclusive workplace and genuine collaboration with Australia’s First Peoples.

Responsibilities include:

- Assist in the timely preparation and movement of a diverse range of items to and from Department venues and storage facilities
- Undertake, propose and create custom archival housing and long-term storage solutions for a diverse range of cultural material
- Collaborate with and seek advice from Indigenous Collections Team colleagues to ensure First Nations perspectives are appropriately reflected in collection storage and housing methodologies

**About You**
You will bring sound analytical and problem-solving skills along with the ability to work with an effective level of independence; as well as working in an interdisciplinary manner with staff, stakeholders and external partners.

Your strong time management and organisational skills enable you to effectively manage multiple collection projects and deliver timely collection management services.

You will also have:

- Completion of a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training
- Demonstrated experience in a museum or gallery environment, including experience of museum installation, storage and art handling standards and procedures as part of complex exhibition projects and other programs
- Demonstrated experience in the methods and practice of object housing in accordance with accepted international museum best practice standard for a diverse range of cultural collections
- A sound understanding of OH&S and risk management procedures, requirements and practices
- Current driver’s license
- To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check._
