**The Role**

The Compliance & Assurance Lead will need to work closely with the Risk Owners and Control Owners across Australia. It plays an important role in assuring that the controls that are in place to manage LPG's key risks are designed and operating effectively. The Lead also works closely with other Second Line functional support groups including Risk, Assurance and Compliance (RAC) as well as Third Line Internal Audit (IA) to balance assurance activities and testing across the Three Lines of Defence.

**Responsibilities & Duties**
- Develop and maintain a compliance register for LPG.
- Develop and be the owner of a robust process to track changes to regulatory instruments (Acts, Regulations, Standards) and ensure these are appropriately integrated into LPG’s work activities.
- Work closely with Group and ESO compliance teams to have clear accountability for compliance activities, remove duplication and ensure processes align.
- Validate the compliance obligations are being satisfied through appropriate assurance.
- Work with key internal and external stakeholders being: LPG General Manager, Group Managers, Risk and Control Owners, ESO Compliance Team, HSE, Internal Audit, LPG Technical manager.
- Leadership and guidance of the LPG L1 and L2 Assurance program for Safety Critical Controls.
- Manage and optimise the annual assurance program for LPG involving:

- Aligning the assurance program with the stated compliance obligations, and he Performance Standards for Safety Critical Controls.
- Undertaking analysis work to determine the scope of assurance activity;
- Coordinating with the Business Unit on timing and resource requirements for each engagement;
- Developing and executing a plan for fieldwork;
- Preparing reports on findings and control assessments/ratings;
- Working with risk and control owners to agree actions to strengthen controls where appropriate.

- **Experience** in audit and/or assurance roles either in **large multi
- location organisations** or professional services.
- Ability to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls, identify control gaps and recommend appropriate controls.
- Technical experience and/or familiarity with safety critical control in the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of regulatory obligations within oil & gas operations.
- Ability to build relationships across multi functional teams and disciplines.
- Ability to work creatively and analytically in problem-solving environments.
- Strong communications skills including both verbal and written (includes interview skills)
- Demonstrated understanding in enterprise-wide risk management, including risk assurance.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement both internal and external.
- Ability to analyse assurance outcomes and develop improvement actions.
- Ability to travel by air or road within the LPG Business.
