Medical Receptionist

The role of the Receptionist is to provide high quality reception and secretarial services to the patients, doctors and staff at the surgery in a confidential caring and supportive manner.

A key function of this role is to Meet, greet, inform, educate and bill patients and attend to doctor’s requests as required.

Essential qualifications, education, skills and/or experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to communicate effectively with a variety of people
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Proficient in use of keyboard

Desirable qualifications, education, skills and/or experience
- Previous experience in a general practice environment
- Proficiency in Windows operating system
- Knowledge of Medical Director and PracSoft/Best Practice
- Understanding of medical terminology

Reporting Structure
- The Receptionist is directly accountable to the Practice Manager.
- The Receptionist works collaboratively with the Practice Manager, doctors and other staff members within a teamwork environment.

The areas of authority the staff member is required or allowed to exercise are:

- Use judgement in conveying information to relevant authorities
- Operate within the organisation’s policies and procedures and within the scope of the staff member’s professional expertise

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Morning shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Brighton, TAS 7030: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Medical admin: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)

Work Location: In person
