- Permanent role based in Newcastle, close to the Newcastle Transport Interchange.
**WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING**
As the Risk Manager, you will be responsible for uplifting risk management practices and building risk capability to support the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives. You will work with internal stakeholders across a range of risk management activities and assist with the preparation of risk reporting for a range of key stakeholders, including Coal LSL’s Board of Directors and the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee (ARCC).
You will:
- develop and deliver targeted training to uplift risk capability
- support the business with refining their risk profiles to ensure they reflect the current risk environment
- maintain and support the ongoing management of Coal LSL’s business continuity framework
- develop risk reporting for a range of stakeholders, including Coal LSL’s Board of Directors and committees
- build relationships and networks to be a trusted risk adviser
- partner with internal stakeholders in a friendly and approachable manner
- contribute to the continuous improvement of the risk management framework, processes and culture.

**WHAT YOU'LL BRING**
To be successful in the role of Risk Manager, you will have previous experience in a similar role, with a solid understanding of risk principles. You will have a natural ability to engage with stakeholders and facilitate workshops to increase risk capability across the organisation.
Your background will demonstrate your:
- extensive experience within a risk management role, in a complex or regulated organisation
- expertise in maturing risk management approaches throughout the lifecycle of projects
- ability to develop or refine frameworks to address changes in the regulatory environment
- strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships across the business
- excellent critical thinking skills with an ability to be proactive
- strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- ability to translate complex risk concepts to internal stakeholders
You will have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Governance or other relevant area, or equivalent experience.
Ideally, you will have experience in a government setting or a highly regulated environment. Experience in IT or project management is desirable.
