We are seeking a Commercial Contract & Assurance Manager to join our Customer Solutions Team within our Customer Services Division.

***The Opportunity**

As the Commercial Contract & Assurance Manager you will lead and manage the Customer Services division’s contracts and supplier interactions, management and performance, KPIs, efficiencies, transactions and risk activities. The role will connect the Customer Services division to the goods and services they need while safeguarding Hunter Water’s commercial interests and value for money.

**What you'll do**:

- Accountable for Divisional contracts and suppliers, including approved supplier registers, delivering successful contract outcomes, obligations management, compliance monitoring, supplier performance and efficiencies.
- Manage and advise on contract and supplier risk and commercial issues and associated impact on projects and develop solutions to improve contract and supplier performance.
- Oversee commercial and procurement planning to ensure value for money is achieved for across the procurement of goods or services specific to the Customer Services Divisional requirements.
- Develop and foster high performing supplier engagements, exhibiting customer-focused behaviour and positive, proactive behaviours, appropriately challenging the status quo.
- Provide contract and commercial advice, guidance, reporting and management across Customer Services Divisional contracts, identifying and reporting on key risks and opportunities to improve Hunter Water’s contract and value outcomes.
- In conjunction with our suppliers and other stakeholders, monitor and vary contracts as necessary for efficiency and best practice performance
resulting in value for money for Hunter Water and our community.
- Provide assurance over financial and non-financial risks for the Customer Services division, including assessing inherent risks, guiding the testing of design and operating effectiveness of controls and assessment of subsequent residual risk.

**What you'll need to be successful**:
**Essential Criteria**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law or related field.
- Comprehensive background in contract management with a strong sense of business ethics and probity.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and negotiating contracts to achieve efficiency and value for money outcomes.
- Well-developed business/commercial acumen with a focus on customer service.
- Evidence of capacity to effectively influence stakeholders to deliver value for money

***Desirable Criteria**:

- Qualifications in procurement, business, supply chain, commercial law or related field
- Work Experience in a Utility or Government Sector
- Sustainable procurement acumen and delivery
- Line one risk experience
