Our client has an exciting opportunity for you Join a dynamic team as a **Logistics and Purchasing Coordinator** at their Head Office in Dandenong South. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for coordinating national and international freight requirements, domestic and international purchasing activities, and ensuring the timely supply of materials and services.
- **Contract Duration: 6 months**
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, business hours

**Description**

As a Logistics and Purchasing Coordinator, you will play a vital role in the organization by performing the following core duties and responsibilities:

- Coordinate interstate freight requirements
- Manage export and import shipments, including customs documentation
- Approve and code freight invoices
- Collaborate with relevant departments to resolve supply issues
- Place purchase orders with vendors to meet material requirements
- Check purchase orders for accuracy before transmission
- Maintain an accurate database for purchase prices and vendors
- Assist with expediting processes to ensure timely delivery

**Profile**

To excel in this position, you should meet the following qualifications and requirements:

- 3-5 years of hands-on purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with MRP and ERP systems
- High level of computer literacy
- Proven negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to implement system changes
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
- Customer-focused mindset with a sense of urgency to support production
- Own transport or access to public transport
- A valid driver's license is desirable
