Overview:
Gallagher Bassett is Australia's largest Third-Party Administrator (TPA). Our focus is refreshingly simple: we manage insurance claims on behalf of insurers, brokers, government bodies and self-insured corporations.
Gallagher Bassett (GB) has six offices in Australia located in Northern Territory, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, and employing over 1000 staff.

**Responsibilities**:
**Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to deliver exceptional claims service and leadership under the Icare NSW workers compensation scheme. As a leader in mental health and wellbeing, you will research and implement best practices for claims management for mental injury claims by supporting the mental health consultants in executing the overall wellbeing strategy.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and revision of the NSW Workers Compensation Strategic plan.
- Lead the design and delivery of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Strategy.
- Develop innovative mental injury return to work strategies, particularly relating to face-to-face service, with the aim of improving early RTW outcomes for workers and employers impacted by mental injury claims.
- Working with L&D to build an environment of learning and support continuous improvement for handling and awareness of mental health risk.
- Provide specialist advice to leaders and claims managers that positively influences and drives optimal claims management practices and outcomes.
- Analyse business team performance trends, risks, and projections, and implement remedial action to resolve issues where required.

Qualifications:
**Essential**
- Previous experience working in the mental health field such as consulting, nursing, social worker or equivalent, within a workers compensation setting.
- Practical experience in designing and successfully implementing mental health programs.
- Demonstrated experience in managing risk and optimising support where risk exists in a mental health context.
- Knowledge of general business and administrative practices and managing cost effective business activities.
- Experience in managing performance through qualitative and quantitative metrics.
- Leadership and motivational ability.
- Experience in recruiting, developing, and retaining individuals.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and resolving workplace conflict.
**Desirable**
- Workers compensation and/or claims management experience in a leadership capacity
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of specialised return to work or technical claims services
