**Surgical Internship position for 2023/2024**
**Perth Veterinary Specialists, one of Western Australia’s largest multi-disciplinary private hospitals is seeking applicants for a 12-month Surgery Internship.

Commencing mid-year or earlier for the right applicant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our dedicated team of surgeons; Dr Carla Appelgrein, Dr Kadie O’Byrne and Dr Tim Caporn. You will also be supported by a highly experienced team of surgical nurses, as well as the broader Perth Veterinary Specialists clinical team.

Perth Veterinary Specialists provides clients, patients and referring veterinarians with a fully integrated service with registered specialists in Surgery, Oncology, Anaesthesia, Dermatology, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, and Critical Care. Perth Veterinary Specialists also has an Internal Medicine department.

This Internship will provide the opportunity to immerse yourself in a specialist hospital environment, advancing your skills under the guidance of our incredibly talented team, in a supportive and positive environment. Of our previous interns, more than nine have become specialists or are currently in residencies, and others have taken up clinical University positions.

Perth Veterinary Specialists is part of is part of a network of 270+ GP Clinics and Specialty Hospitals across Australia and New Zealand who can provide you with additional learning opportunities and access to a national network of specialist clinics to help develop and cultivate your professional relationships.

To be successful in this role it is important that you are qualified veterinarian with a Bachelor's degree or higher and have at least 1 year of previous experience working in General Practice or specialist hospital.

We are looking for someone with a sound knowledge base that we can build upon. Whilst your experience is important, we are seeking someone who is a team player, an active learner, and is committed to providing patient care of the highest standard. Above all you need to have a positive outlook and constructive approach to your work.
