**About the role**
As the Head of Strategic Procurement & Supplier Management, you’ll be reporting into the General Manager of Commercial & Business Optimisation, and play a pivotal strategic role in providing significant leadership within Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) and the wider Vocus Group. You’ll be contributing to Vocus’ ability to not only establish sustainable mid and long-term cost and operational efficiencies, but also to meet our Net Zero and Sustainability goals.

Leading the strategic procurement function, you’ll be responsible for maintaining strong business relationships with various divisions across the group both on a working and senior management level (GMs, Head of, COO, CTO, CFO, etc.) to ensure stakeholders’ support.

Your responsibilities in this role will include, but are not limited to:

- Developing and implementing effective procurement, contract management and partner strategies.
- Encouraging a culture whereby cost, operational and ESG targets are understood and challenged, and improvements and creative solutions are continually driven adopting a business partnering mindset and approach.
- Manage and develop a team to create commercial/operational opportunities to reduce Technologies’ and cost exposure to enable efficient operations including RFQ activities, new sourcing models and by creating win-win opportunities with key partners and suppliers.
- Establishing and maintaining frameworks and processes to keep sustainability and ESG priorities front of mind during the entire procurement and supplier lifecycle process.
- Creating win-win relationships with key partners and suppliers; leading complex negotiations to ensure our partners deliver value as per their contracts.
- Develop, strengthen, and grow partnerships with key industry players to leverage industry know-how and innovative expertise.
- Leveraging synergy opportunities across the business.
- Oversee daily operations, resourcing, and priorities to encourage maximum team performance and motivation.

**About success in this role**
This role will require strong leadership skills and an effective management of planning and the successful implementation of business improvements, a sustainable procurement and performance management program as well as the direct management of a team of procurement experts.

You’ll bring to this role:

- Proven track record in a similar Strategic Procurement role; company-wide projects and successfully developing, negotiating, and implementing business improvement initiatives.
- Telecommunications and/or IT related technical knowledge; working with IT systems procurement, networks technology procurement, infrastructure procurement.
- Strong commercial background coupled with excellent analytical/strategic thinking capability; ability to develop and review complex business case models as required.
- ESG and sustainable procurement experience highly preferred.
- Leadership experience managing direct reports, remote teams and providing coaching to internal stakeholders and project teams.
- Solid experience managing existing and developing new partner/vendor relationships (vendor assessments and negotiating complex service agreements).
- Capability to support and influence across all levels; Executive/Senior leadership and program levels.
- Ability to creatively challenge business as usual mindsets, curious in thinking outside the box, and pragmatic passion for driving improvements/results.
