**ABOUT THE DIVISION & SECTIONS**

Procurement and Insurance Division is responsible for:

- providing advice and guidance to the Government on the procurement policy framework;
- managing AusTender, the Government's centralised procurement information and e-tendering system;
- providing technical advice to support government procurement elements of international trade negotiations;
- coordinated procurement contracting arrangements for whole of government procurement including consultants, contractors, travel, motor vehicle leasing, advertising and stationery and office supplies;
- Comcover and risk management policy; and
- administering discretionary financial assistance through the Government’s special claims mechanism.

The Strategic Procurement Teams are responsible for the establishment and implementation of non-ICT whole of government procurement arrangements. The teams are also responsible for

re-tendering of the arrangements. The arrangements increase efficiency and reduce costs for entities.

**ABOUT THE**
**OPPORTUNITY**

The Strategic Procurement Teams has several vacancies for procurement/project managers. We are looking for people with procurement and/or project management skills who have the ability to work collaboratively as part of multi-disciplinary teams to lead and support the scoping, planning and execution of strategic procurement activities for the Australian Government.

The EL1 duties include:

- leading a small team to undertake procurement projects to deliver strategic ‘whole of Australian Government’ tendering and contracting arrangements
- managing contracts with probity and legal advisers
- representing Finance at meetings with external stakeholders
- working proactively and collaboratively with stakeholders, including from other government entities and industry
- managing the end-to-end procurement process including stakeholder consultation, preparation of tender documentation, tender evaluations, negotiations, notification of tender outcomes and providing debriefs.
- administering and maintaining procurement plans and related systems and processes, resolving issues and identifying improvements
- drafting reports, advice, and briefings with a high level of accuracy
- transitioning procurement arrangements to a contract management team.
