**About the opportunity**

An exciting opportunity has become available to work with the Forensic Medicine Unit as a Case Coordinator within Forensic & Analytical Science Service (FASS). This is a permanent full time role within the organisation. FASS is a multidisciplinary organisation that employs our forensic services to provide independent, objective analysis to the NSW Health and justice systems to help solve crimes and investigate unexplained or unexpected deaths.

**What you'll be doing**

To provide high-quality case management information and triage system support to the Rural Triage Centre and across Forensic Medicine Newcastle, through the gathering and preparation of complex medicolegal information for the facilitation and coordination of cases reportable to the Coroner.
- Demonstrated experience in providing high-level support to management and/or clinicians in the coordination of critical administration workflow.
- Proven capacity to exercise sound judgement and problem solving in a large complex environment demanding confidentiality, discretion, and sensitivity.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a workload to meet deadlines in a complex work environment with mínimal supervision.
- High-level communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with multidisciplinary staff and key stakeholders to achieve results.
- Ability to develop guidelines or procedures relevant to the triaging environment for use by staff.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in an environment that could be distressing, ensuring to raise any associated concerns and/or need for support, and adopt self-care strategies.
- Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSWHP RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence.

**Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases**

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
