Since 1977, Jenny's Place has provided crisis and transitional accommodation, support, early intervention and prevention programs, outreach support and community education to women and children experiencing domestic violence and homelessness in our local community.

Their programs deliver integrated case management to assist clients to obtain and maintain safe, affordable housing and referral to appropriate wrap around services to meet individual client needs.


Jenny's Place has a vision of a community free of violence and homelessness and the team are committed to supporting women and children to achieve this outcome.


About the role


The Outreach Coordinator will lead a small team, ensuring the goals of the program are met and best practice case management is achieved.

The program delivers support to assist clients to maintain their safety, work on issues that place their tenancies at risk and prevent them from becoming homeless.

The development and maintenance of partnerships with various health, housing and support services will be key and effective stakeholder management is crucial to the success of the program.

The position will also manage a small portfolio of cases themselves.

    About you
As the Outreach Coordinator you will bring skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Hands-on leadership in a community services environment
  • Case management experience and an ability to juggle competing demands
  • Experience working with clients facing homelessness
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of domestic and family violence is desirable
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
  • Current driver's license, vehicle and live with 40km of Newcastle
  • Willingness to be on call as required (rotating roster) and at times working after hoursPlease note this role is designated for a female under section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act.
