Our Payments Settlements Department provides payment settlement services to Australian financial system participants through the Reserve Bank Information and Transfer System (RITS). Working within the RBA’s risk management framework, you will develop and implement sound risk management and compliance policies and procedures, while leading and developing individuals and teams to achieve goals and deliver outcomes.
In this position you will:

- Contribute to development of a strong risk management culture in Payments Settlements Department and guide and support staff to fulfil their risk management responsibilities.
- Develop and implement policies and processes to enable risk to be managed by Payments Settlements Department staff and assess and report on the effectiveness of the risk and control environment.
- Develop and implement a sound compliance framework for Payments Settlements Department, including co-ordinating the timely completion of compliance reports.
- Co-ordinate the maintenance of the department's relevant contingency plans, and ensure they are regularly tested.
- Track developments in industry best practice for RITS member business continuity and resilience and put forward proposals for enhancements to RITS arrangements.

The successful applicant will have a proven capacity to guide and influence, promote change, and experience managing a team with risk and compliance responsibilities. **About the team**
The Risk and Compliance team comprises this position and three staff. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Business Governance and Risk Management within the Payments Settlements Department. The department is part of Business Services Group, which is responsible for the provision of banking and payments services to Australian Government agencies, the provision of payment settlement services to Australian financial system participants, the conduct of Exchange Settlement Accounts and the production and issuance of Australian banknotes.
Working within the RBA’s risk management framework, the team is responsible for the implementation of risk management arrangements for Payments Settlements Department, including the department’s contingency arrangements and those for settlement via RITS. The team is also responsible for the department’s compliance activities and reports.
