**The Opportunity**:

- The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting to fill multiple positions within its Finance and Property Services Division.
- The Division is responsible for all departmental financial management practices and systems, maintaining Australian Parliament House’s building infrastructure, accommodation planning and furniture management, the delivery of in-house capital works projects, and enhancing the department’s capital planning and quality management capabilities, including procurement, sustainability initiatives, building information and strategic asset management. The Division is also responsible for the implementation of the department’s innovation framework.

The Division consists of three Branches:

**Finance Branch** - provides financial advice and related services to the department including project-related financial support.

**Property Services Branch** - delivers all capital works projects (building infrastructure) aimed at ensuring the preservation of Parliament House for its aspirational 200-year life span. The branch also provides ongoing maintenance, facilities management, landscaping services, and office fit-out projects for the department. The branch operates under an insource model requiring all projects to be managed internally.

**Planning and Quality Branch** - is responsible for the implementation of a quality management framework, all strategic planning activities for Australian Parliament House, information management including the development of a state-of-the-art digital twin project, accommodation planning, furniture management and maintenance, sustainability initiatives, and procurement and contract management activities, including the development of best practice templates and guidance material.

**Streams**:
**Procurement** - As part of the Procurement team you will work closely with our business partners to provide accurate and specialised advice, guidance, and support on a vast range of procurement activities with varied levels of complexity. As a Procurement Official, your procurement expertise will be called upon to provide high level advice to staff including policy, legislative, probity and process advice and to support and guide our partners throughout procurement process.

**Contract Management** - As part of the Contract Management team you will review and refine our “Best Practice” contracting processes to ensure adherence to regulatory and legislative frameworks, delivering to our contract management framework, performing contract management compliance reviews, providing contract management and probity advice and practical guidance. You will also be responsible for maintaining productive partner / vendor / contractor relationships through ongoing liaison, providing direction and monitoring performance in conjunction with our business partners.

**Contract and Business Support** - The contact and business support roles require good stakeholder management skills, the ability to work closely as part of a broader team and to assist with managing priorities, expectations and information management. The role also requires good organisational and the ability to seek input from others to ensure the work of the team is appropriately informed.

**Property and Asset Management** - Undertakes asset management planning, including the scoping and scheduling of capital works projects alongside planned and unplanned activities, all under the umbrella of the strategic asset management plan. This includes the development of Initial Business Cases for project work in consultation with stakeholders. The APH furniture collection is considered an important contemporary furniture collection of national cultural significance and comprised of more than 13,000 items. Management of these assets involves the maintenance, refurbishment, and conservation of furniture, in consultation with specialist furniture conservationists and moral rights representatives. A register of the assets is maintained and reviewed annually as part of a stocktake program. Movement of the furniture throughout the building is tracked and aligned to original architect’s design intent.

**Financial Management -** The Financial Systems team is comprised of three (3) teams including Workforce Scheduling Solutions, Payroll Services, and ERP Application Services. The section delivers the following: provision of scheduling assistance to DPS staff working under rostered conditions, administering pay and conditions for DPS staff, and standardising, consolidating, and automating transactional services to allow DPS to focus on core priorities.
