**ABOUT THE BRANCH & SECTION**

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) contributes towards the outcomes of the Department by providing reliable and timely financial information that supports decision making and drives efficiency and continual improvement in organisational performance and compliance with financial reporting rules under the PGPA Act.

The Client Facing Services sit within the CFO Branch which provide financial advice and support to business groups that contribute to the department’s objectives.

The Client Facing Services is responsible for financial analysis and advice to business areas, preparation of Divisional/Group costings, budgets and forecasts, production of monthly and ad hoc financial management reports, and coordination of ad hoc financial planning and business case requirements across business areas.

**ABOUT THE** OPPORTUNITY**

The Client Facing Services provide a finance business partnering role by supporting the Budget Group, Business Enabling Services Group, Commercial Group and Governance and Resource Management Group.

The Finance Officer of the Client Facing Services will that provides financial support to the business areas within the Budget and Business Enabling Services Groups.

The position will assist with the internal budget processes and other financial information in support of the business areas.

An ability to work independently with limited direction and deliver accurate financial information in a timely manner is essential for this role.

Duties of the role, with limited supervision, includes:

- supporting business areas by preparing month-end reports, maintaining budget updates, monthly and annual CFOB reporting requirements
- providing advice and guidance on financial matters to business areas
- preparing month end journals, balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining accurate accounts and records
- supporting cost centre and/or project managers in order to provide project expenditure reports and other financial information
- implementing key financial service improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities for continuous improvements
- liaising with stakeholders (internally and externally)
- completing ad hoc financial tasks.
