**Position Overview**
The Assistant Director, People and Culture Workforce Capability will lead the delivery a broad range of human resource services, information and advice in accordance with relevant Commonwealth legislative and policy requirements.
The position holder will manage and lead a small team to deliver the agency’s Learning and Development activities, Performance and Development Framework and the APS Employee Census.
**Duties**
The Assistant Director Workforce Capability is responsible for:
- Designing and developing LMS e-learning materials which meet the needs of a complex workforce. This includes a mix of corporate induction, soft skills and vocational training courses.
- Sourcing and promoting tailored learning opportunities relevant to the workforce, including leadership and management training to support APS employees, Senior Executive Staff and the Judiciary to be effective leaders.
- Deliver Leadership and Management courses in both virtual and face-to-face formats, including facilitating engaging group discussions and case studies with diverse participants.
- Implementation and ongoing management of the agency’s Performance and Development Agreement Framework including providing system and policy support throughout the Performance Cycle.
- Coaching employees and managers to identify and set career and development goals, including identifying resources and tools to help the workforce build capability and reach its full potential.
- The coordination of the APS Employee Census on behalf of the agency, including the development of agency specific questions, analysis of results, creation and implementation of agency Census Action Plans.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including high level writing, editing and presentation skills.
- Possess strong stakeholder engagement skills and emotional intelligence in order to collaborate with business areas to identify training needs and requirements, capability and skill gaps and appropriate learning strategies.
- Experience leading and managing teams to deliver outcomes, including developing, coaching and mentoring employees.
- Model an enthusiasm for learning and advocate for and foster a continuous learning mindset in others.
**Role requirements**
To be successful if this role you must demonstrate:
- Experience with e-Learning solutions including Articulate 360 products.
- An ability to facilitate adult learning through engaging and innovative workshops and group discussions.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
**Desirable**
- RTO Skillsets - Enterprise Trainer, Assessor
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment
- Diploma Training Design and Development
- Diploma of Vocational Education and Training
- University degree in Adult Education or equivalent
- Experience working with Legal Professionals
- Relevant experience in the delivery of learning and development in a Commonwealth Public Service department or agency
- Experience with LEARN Hire Road
**Other Requirements**
- Some interstate travel may be required.

- Security and character clearance - the successful applicant must satisfy a Police Records Check, and may also be required to complete security clearances during the course of their employment;
