**The Role**
The Capability Analyst role within the Investment Portfolio Analysis Directorate plays a key role in providing decision support to Defence senior leaders and Program Management Offices that relates to the implementation and delivery of Defence’s Integrated Investment Program. The work is challenging and highly rewarding and you would be working across the Department and with Central Agencies.
We are seeking suitably skilled and experienced applicants who can demonstrate skill and/or experience in:
- Portfolio / Program / Project management;
- Financial and business analysis;
- High-level stakeholder engagement (including cross-agency);
- Strong analytical and critical thinking;
- High-level written and oral communication;
- Ability to align programs/ projects scope/outcomes with Defence Strategic objectives;
- Sound professional judgement;
- A desire to learn about the Defence capability system; and
- Continuous personal and professional development
The applicant would need to possess, or be able to acquire, a NV1 (SECRET) security clearance.
The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace.
It may also be ceased should you change positions or the requirement for the BDCP is no longer necessary, as determined by Defence. Should the BDCP be ceased you will be advised and your BDCP additional payment will cease.
**About our Team**
Investment Portfolio Management Branch (IPMB) supports the highest-level decision makers in Defence and Government to deliver the outcomes required by the ADF. We directly provide decision support to the Vice Chief of the Defence Force in his role as Chair of the Investment Committee by providing independent analysis and advice on the Defence investment portfolio.
IPMB is a small, yet influential team trusted to advise Defence on investment matters.
