**Why will you enjoy this role?**

The purpose of this position is to assist in the delivery of the Arts & Crafts Competitions & Events exhibits for the 2024 Royal Easter Show.

The **Sydney Royal Easter Show** is the largest annual ticketed event staged in the Southern Hemisphere and we are currently looking for an **Administration & Event Assistant** to join our Arts & Crafts Competitions team for the 2024 Show.

To excel in this role, you will have an intermediate level of competency in Microsoft Office Suite and exceptional customer service skills combined with event and/or hospitality experience. You will be responsible for the delivery of a range of duties including, but not limited to:

- Managing and addressing exhibitors concerns in an appropriate and timely manner
- General office administration such as word processing, organising invitations, creating, and maintaining spreadsheets and presentations and proof-reading competition publications and documents
- Data entry recording information for awards and sales on database, exhibitor paperwork and notify Exhibitor
- Respond to enquiries and escalate and redirect issues
- Assisting with the manual bump-in and bump-out including handling the delivery and collection of displays/exhibits including handling of tables, chairs, and other display accessories
- Customer service, sales, cash handling, EFTPOS and register use during the Arts Preview and the Show
- Set an example for staff and colleagues in areas of personal character, commitment, organisational skills, and work habits
- Provide assistance and support to the Events Manager and team.
- A high degree of flexibility is essential for this events-based role

This role is a contract role to May 2024, and will require you to work the 2024 Sydney Royal Easter Show period **(22 March to 2 April 2024)**. **Other important pre and post-Show periods include**:

- Bump-In & Exhibit Deliveries: 4 - 9 March 2024
- Exhibit Judging & Bump-In: 11 - 21 March 2024
- Arts Preview Set-Up & Evening: 20 March 2024 (10:00 AM - 10:00 PM)
- Bump-Out & Exhibit Collections: 2 - 6 April 2024

**If you have?**

**Qualifications**
- Any relevant administrative or event management qualification will be highly regarded
- A genuine appreciation of the Arts & Crafts (desirable)

**Experience**
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage stakeholder concerns
- Demonstrated experience in administration, events and/or hospitality
- Customer service skills and efficient cash handling and POS experience
- The capacity to work independently, within a team and under pressure in a busy setting
- The ability to work weekends and extended hours if required
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, phone etiquette and call management skills

**Computer Skills**
- An intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Eventbrite ticketing platform (desirable)

Although this role sounds like a lot of fun, it is a high-pressure period in the RAS calendar and your administration skills and experience mean that you can hit the ground running. This role is one of many, contributing to the successful delivery of the 2024 Sydney Royal Arts & Crafts Show, and requires a calm approach, an eye for detail, open-mindedness, quick thinking, and the ability to juggle many tasks at once.
