**_About the Role_**

The Team Lead is responsible for managing a cross-functional agile team of business analysts, developers, and testers to design, build and maintain software solutions through the software development lifecycle. They help drive a culture of continuous improvement, lean thinking, and ensure their team meets its commitments.

The role is ongoing until 31 December 2024 - possible extension or becoming ongoing.

The New South Wales Electoral Commission delivers trusted and independent systems, processes, oversight and engagement that support democracy in New South Wales. Our vision is to maintain confidence in the integrity of the democratic process and make it easy for people to understand and participate.

- Running elections.
- Communicating and engaging with the public and our stakeholders; and
- Investigating possible offences and enforcing electoral laws such as the Electoral Act 2017 and the Electoral Funding Act 2018

**_Essential requirements_**
- At least 3 years’ experience leading teams and managing the delivery of complex software projects, preferably in both Waterfall and Agile environments.
- At least 5 years’ development experience with a strong technical background in MS technologies and cloud computing platforms, such as Azure.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong team leadership skills with a focus on engaging at a technical level with teams to maximise individual team member and overall team performance.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately estimate and scope work to deliver software changes.
- Demonstrated experience use a range of software development planning, monitoring, reporting and quality assurance tools, eg Jira, Zephr, Confluence, Azure Devops.
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science or a related field.
- Politically neutral with no affiliation to political parties or lobbyists/campaigners.
- Satisfactory criminal record check results.
