We have a casual work opportunities as a Support Worker within Ruah’s After Hours team

The After Hours Support Service is a wrap-around support service available to people who have been housed, following sleeping rough and/or experiencing chronic homelessness to assist with the retention of housing and improvements in quality of life. This team-managed service provides nursing and psychosocial support to people with tri-morbidities, on evenings, weekends and public holidays, to ensure that they have additional support available, when they need it. The After Hours Support Service is a wrap-around support service available to people who have been housed, following sleeping rough and/or experiencing chronic homelessness to assist with the retention of housing and improvements in quality of life.

As a Support Worker you will provide a range of support interventions within a developmental framework that enables clients to address their needs. You will assist in delivering activity based work and daily living supports such as taking clients to appointments.

**Additional Shifts Available (Safe Night Space)**

The Women’s Safe Night Space was developed by Ruah Community Services as an exciting innovative program to respond to the urgent need for a safe and culturally secure night space for women sleeping rough in Perth. This may include chronically street-present women (rough sleepers), women escaping family and domestic violence who would otherwise face being forced onto the streets, and women awaiting placement in transitional or long-term accommodation.

**Who are we looking for?**

It is expected that the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

- Completion of or progress towards a relevant qualification (Certificate II/III), and/or relevant work experience, and/or lived experience.
- Ability to engage with individuals within different levels of needs and build and maintain a professional relationship.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to the functioning of the team.
- Ability to model positive behaviours, emotional maturity, coping skills and resilience.
- Good interpersonal and effective communication skills.
- Understanding of basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and client reporting system.
- Willingness and ability to work within and contribute to the vision, mission, core values and the guiding principles of the organisation.
- Knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture.

- First Aid Certificate
