About the role
We are currently seeking a values-driven Case Worker in our Residential Withdrawal Service sector, to deliver intensive in-patient treatment to participants requiring support with withdrawal from alcohol and other substance use. In this role you will utilise evidence-based methods in both individual and group approaches to support participants to reduce their substance use and minimise related harms, and to build self-efficacy to support ongoing recovery plans. Key responsibilities
- Deliver effective and evidence based individual interventions that support the implementation of the individual treatment plan including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Relapse Prevention, Mindfulness and ACT
- Deliver bio-psycho-social groups for the program
- Work cooperatively with other staff to ensure quality services are delivered to participants
- Case management practice, including ongoing assessment, monitoring, planning and advocacy for the participant is responsive, participant focused and reflective of contemporary theory and practice
- Collaborate with and support participants to develop Individual Treatment Plans and treatment goals based on ongoing assessment
- Work with a trauma informed practice lens and embed this practice into the team’s case management practice
This is a permanent full-time position, located in Highgate, WA. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 5 Award.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health service discipline (e.g. Social Work, Counselling or Allied Health) is preferred and experience in the alcohol and other drugs sector
- Previous experience in AOD preferred
- Excellent case management knowledge and practice
- Knowledge of AOD sector; Understands and applies AOD treatment models, approaches, theories and practices when dealing with clients; well-developed knowledge of the issues and challenges clients experience and a clear understanding of harm minimisation approaches
- Current COVID Vaccinations
- A national police record check is required
- A current and valid Working with Children’s Check
- Current First Aid qualifications
