The Deputy Manager is primarily responsible for supporting the Health Information and Services (HIRS) Manager in leading and managing a diverse and wide-ranging array of staff in a dynamic departmental environment to ensure optimal service delivery that supports the Network in relation to health records management and medico-legal services. The Deputy Manager will work within Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (JH&FMHN) and Ministry of Health policies, procedures and guidelines as well as Corrective Services NSW or Juvenile Justice NSW rules and regulations as set out in the relevant legislation.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in health information management or similar area, or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and work experience.
- Demonstrated effective management and leadership/rostering skills including the ability to motivate and develop staff, and exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proven experience in financial management including developing and meeting budgets and staying within staffing limits.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality principles and experience in change management.
- Demonstrated sound understanding of the legislation, regulations, policies and Australian Standards associated with records, information management, medico-legal matters, and privacy and confidentiality.
- Proven experience in the development, implementation of policies and procedures related to paper and electronic health records management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computerised patient information systems, admitted patient data requirements and excellent computer skills, including the use of MS Office products.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication, and demonstrated ability to consult and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
