**About our team**:
Our Data, Analytics and Systems Assurance (DASA) team sits within Corporate Services and supports the broader VAGO with sophisticated analytics and IT audit needs across their audits. We have specialists across data engineering, software development, data visualisations and IT audits.

The Systems Assurance arm of the DASA team assists our financial statement auditors with planning and executing on elements of their audit where skills in IT, security, systems and emerging technologies are needed. Across VAGO, our systems assurance team actively engages and assists in 70 audits each year.

Systems Assurance staff are also involved in transformational projects focused on automating and embedding General IT Controls and Automated Information Processing Controls audit testing into our in-house built analytics platform called Empower.

**About the opportunity**:
We have several roles available and in these roles you will lead engagements that:

- Help our financial statement audit teams better understand our audit clients' IT environment, including the extent to which their business models integrate the use of IT
- Assess and identify risks arising from IT and help develop audit responses to those risks
- Assess and test General IT controls, Information processing controls, and conduct other specialised IT audit work
- Be involved in transformational projects that challenge the status quo and evolve the way in which IT audit teams support our audits of financial reports

**About you**:
To be considered for this role at the VPS 5.2 level applicants should:

- Have at least four years’ experience in undertaking IT audits supporting audits of financial reports at a professional services firm or another Audit Office across the Australasian Council of Auditors-General (ACAG) network.
- Be capable of working independently and with very mínimal supervision to plan and deliver on IT audit engagements supporting audits of financial reports.
- Have completed the education requirements for admission as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) with ISACA, Certified Practicing Accountant with CPA Australia or Chartered Accountant with the CAANZ.

To be considered for this role at a VPS 6 level applicants must also have:

- At least six years’ experience in undertaking IT audits supporting audits of financial reports at a professional services firm or another Audit Office across the Australian Council of Auditors-General (ACAG) network.
- Experience managing a portfolio of IT audit engagements in support of audits of financial reports.

All applicants must have:

- Experience working with financial audit teams to understand risks arising from use of IT and developing response to those risks.
- Strong skills and experience in auditing General IT controls, Information processing controls, and can provide other specialist support to financial statement auditors.
- Strong understanding of how data impact the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
- A sound understanding of how emerging technologies and industry wide trends affect the work of IT auditors supporting audits of financial reports.
- A passion for innovation and improving the way we do things.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to negotiate outcomes with stakeholders such as your audit clients.
- A proven ability to make sensitive and complex decisions.
