About the role:

Due to continuous growth, we are currently looking for a dynamic

Risk and System Safety Assurance Advisor to support our

Franchise portfolio of works

in our

Projects Division.

Reporting to the Risk and System Safety Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of the Franchise risk and safety assurance strategies, processes, programs relating to the

North East Link Project (NELP), and other Signals and Power Projects within the Franchise Projects Division.


In this role you will assist with safety assurance deliverables from delivery partners of the NELP and ensure they comply with MTM business requirements.

This role will also include continuously identifying and minimising all forms of risk to reduce MTM's safety risk exposure and provide assurance to the Franchise Director and SERQ Manager.

This is a

full-time permanent opportunity, primarily based between MTM's head office in Docklands as well as flexible working options.
_As an MTM employee, you will have access to free travel along the network._

Accountabilities
The key responsibilities of a

Risk and System Safety Assurance Advisor will include but not be limited to:

  • Develop, implement and manage the Risk and Safety Assurance program for franchisee project
  • Manage MTM's risk and safety assurance requirements as per the Projects Assurance Framework (PAF)
  • Develop project Risk and Safety Assurance Plans and Reports as required and participate and facilitate risk workshops and generate risk registers and reports, as required, for all facets of risk
  • Develop and maintain safety risk registers covering all facets of risk; including, safety, financial, operational, commercial, environmental, design and construction, etc as required by the PAF
  • Conduct or participate in system safety analyses such as PHA, SHA, OSHA, using techniques such as SWIFT, FMEA or HAZOP.
  • Champion the MTM risk management process within the MTM Projects Division
  • Liaise with relevant MTM peers, stakeholders, RTO's, regulators and third parties.
  • Proactively ensure project staff and contractors have a working knowledge of the MTM Risk Management and System Safety Assurance processes; including, a sound understanding of the requirements and outputs during the project life cycle.
  • Production of safety documentation in line with MTM's system safety assurance requirements and criteria
  • Conduct MTM related Hazard Identification and Analyses
  • Facilitation or attendance at relevant Projects and riskrelated meetings including formal written reports and verbal presentations

About You:

  • Knowledge of ISO31000, EN50126 and AS/NZS 1528
  • Demonstrated experience at Senior Management level in a construction environment desirable
  • Experience in risk management, ideally in construction or engineering desirable
  • Ability to motivate and communicate effectively with all personnel throughout the organisation
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and consultation expertise
  • Strong report writing, analytical ability and critical thinking
