The company

**Central Petroleum Limited (ASX**: CTP) is a well-established and emerging Australian ASX-listed oil and gas producer. We have a diverse portfolio of producing and prospective gas tenements across the Northern Territory (NT) and Queensland. We operate the largest onshore oil and gas fields in the NT, producing from proven reserves in the Amadeus Basin (west of Alice Springs). As an Australian oil and gas company listed on the ASX, we provide energy security and reliable gas supply to power stations, mine sites, energy wholesalers and retailers in central and northern Australia.

The role

Reporting into the Manager Risk and HSE, you will be responsible for all facets of safety with a focus on being the conduit between corporate and the operational sites. Additionally, you will:
Manage health and safety across regional QLD and NT, dividing your time between the head office in Brisbane and these sites;
Deliver and execute the corporate safety strategy at a site base level, working closely with the leaders to ensure its fit for purpose and user friendly;
Further develop the health and safety system and governance framework, as well as effective safety leadership programs;
Streamline and upgrade the safety reporting function, ensuring the data providing meaningful insights to inform future decisions;
Travel to the regions to ensure consistency in the delivery of health and safety initiatives, along with coaching and mentoring leaders and employees to upskill their knowledge and capability; and

Work closely with the Environmental Specialist to integrate the two functions.

About you

To be considered for this role you will possess a qualification in OH&S, coupled with a background working across high-risk environments (ideally 10 years). You will have a strong background working within the oil and gas or an aligned industry, with strong knowledge of how safety legislation applies to these areas. You will have autonomous experience in rolling out corporate initiatives, auditing, as well as risk management and the development of critical controls. You will be highly influential in style, outcomes focused, pragmatic, and can build strong credibility across all levels of the business.
