**Position Information**:
Box Hill Public School is a new site on Terry Road, Box Hill. The temporary school site will be located on George Street, Box Hill and is due to open early in 2025. The school is located in the Northwest Growth Area of Sydney and is expected to experience rapid growth enrolment in the first five years of operation. Box Hill Public School is situated in a culturally diverse area which is driven by a community that values high expectations and learning.

Phase one of the build will be to open the temporary school site and when the permanent school is completed the school will have capacity for up to 1,000 students. The permanent school will include three support classes for students with disability. The permanent school incorporates an innovative and future educational model, reflective of agile teaching and learning areas.

Due to the unique and complex nature of opening a new school the Deputy Principal will commence in Week 1, Term 4 2024, prior to the establishment of the temporary school early in 2025.

**1. **Demonstrated ability to lead and create a culture of high expectations, ensuring effective informed teaching and learning practices that meet the needs of all learners.
- Demonstrated capacity to build a positive school culture of inclusion, support and community engagement that ensures authentic partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience developing and leading wellbeing initiatives that builds the capacity for students to develop explicit social and emotional skills such as resilience so students can learn, grow and belong.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
