**Position Information**:
Randwick Public School is located in the Eastern Suburbs, adjacent to Randwick Junction, Coogee Beach, Randwick Racecourse, the University of New South Wales and The Prince of Wales Hospital.
Randwick Public School (enrolment 900 students, including 41% from a non-English speaking background), provides a nurturing and welcoming environment for students from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.)
Staff actively participate in the development and leadership of quality learning programs.
An active parent body provides a source of knowledge and expertise for stimulating programs as well as an excellent resource base for teaching and learning. Targeted fundraising supports specific school initiatives and equity through an annual P&C budget process and scholarships in instrumental music programs.
Strong academic results and a focus on continuous improvement, particularly in the areas of literacy, numeracy, technology, student welfare and leadership, support a broad, inclusive program. Differentiated class teaching programs, programs for high performing students, learning support and EALD ensure individual student learning needs are met. There are high expectations for sporting endeavours, the performing arts and the provision of extracurricular programs including two languages (Community language other than English-Mandarin, and Primary language other than English-Italian).
The school has completed a situational analysis from the collection of survey data, ongoing analysis of performance data and staff focus groups. The areas for the school plan from this process are:

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
1. An open, approachable visible leader with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to genuinely engage with the whole school community to support a positive and inclusive culture.
2. Demonstrated ability to lead evidence-based initiatives that focus on improving quality teaching practices and improved student literacy and numeracy outcomes, including HPGE and additional needs.
3. Demonstrated expertise in leading inclusive education to support students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to students with disabilities.
4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the executive team to strategically plan, lead and monitor initiatives to support the Strategic Improvement Plan.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
